Just-Safe.de - Democratizing Resilience (2015/2016)

In 2015, my partner Rafael and I realized we shared a bold, unified vision: we wanted to make the core principles of self-protection and boundary-setting accessible to as many people as possible - regardless of their age, physical experience, or financial situation. Our goal was to prove that living a self-determined life, free from fear, is a universal right.

This vision birthed Just-Safe.de. We launched a digital initiative starting with a free 7-day online program. Moving far beyond just physical techniques, the daily video modules focused heavily on prevention, de-escalation, and situational awareness. We paired these lessons with daily mental challenges and a journal for participants to monitor their cognitive shifts, perceptions, and results. The response was overwhelming: over 2,000 people from all across Germany joined our community.

Eventually, we expanded by creating advanced, subscription-based courses. However, navigating the intersection of a rapidly growing digital platform and limited bootstrapped funds, we had to close the project after 18 months.

For me, this was never a failure. It was an invaluable masterclass in empathy and human behavior. We taught practical safety skills, but we learned infinitely more from the thousands of deeply personal stories, the intimate honesty, and the transformative feedback we received from the community. It profoundly shaped the trauma-sensitive approach I use in my 1-on-1 consulting today.
