The Balancing Act: Co-Hosting the KMI Instructor Camp (November 2025)
In November 2025, Krav Maga Berlin reached a new operational milestone by co-hosting the international Krav Maga Israel (KMI) Instructor Program right here in the capital. Bringing a global cohort to Berlin required months of intense logistical preparation. After vetting nearly 20 different facilities, we forged a powerful, long-term partnership with Sportschule TAO - a premium venue that perfectly accommodated our standards and has since become a highly valued collaborator for future KMB seminars.
Stepping into the role of the local co-host meant managing a complex balancing act. I was responsible for the operational logistics, coordinating media production, and serving as the primary anchor for Master Ron Engelman and the international participants. A particularly profound moment of the week occurred off the mats: I had the honor of leading the group on a private, late-night guided tour of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. It was a vital moment of reflection, grounding our physical training in the deep historical and cultural context of why the right to self-protection exists.
Amidst the heavy organizational load, the camp also held a deeply personal triumph. My longest-standing active client - who has trained with me since February 2020, weathering every phase of my entrepreneurial journey from outdoor park sessions to our premium dojo - successfully passed her instructor certification. Watching her earn this title in front of a global committee was one of the proudest moments of my career.
Finally, I was not just a host and a mentor; I was also a participant. On the final day, I had to re-test to confirm my own Brown Belt status. I have never entered a high-stakes exam so completely physically and mentally drained from a week of organizational management. But this is exactly where the "Mental Pivot" takes over. I actively ignored the exhaustion, shut down all thoughts of how long or hard the test would be, put my mind on autopilot, and trusted the foundation I had built. I successfully confirmed my rank.
The camp was an undeniable success: It solidified a crucial new venue partnership, produced Krav Maga Berlin’s second certified instructor, and further ignited our community, inspiring more students to aim for the next Berlin camp already scheduled for March 2027.
