Culture & Ownership: The First KMB Christmas Party (December 2025)
In November 2025, while my student Perla and I were battling through our grueling instructor exam on the mats, some of my most dedicated students stood on the sidelines to cheer us on. But instead of just watching the test, they used the time for a project of their own: planning our first official KMB Christmas party. Right after we passed our exams, they approached me and presented the plan - not as a suggestion, but as an established fact.
For me, it was an incredibly proud moment. Ultimately, a dojo is only as strong as the community that brings it to life. Seeing my students take complete ownership of this event proved the powerful bond we have cultivated. They took charge of the entire organization - from finding the perfect date and decorating our dojo to bringing homemade food to further enrich the buffet.
On December 6, 2025, the day arrived. Our training space, which normally stands for absolute focus and hard work, transformed into the perfect venue to celebrate our community. It was an incredibly relaxed, warm, and fun gathering that went deep into the night (we pragmatically postponed the cleanup to the following day).
Moments like this are a profound reminder: When you train at Krav Maga Berlin, you do not just work on your resilience in isolation. You become part of a highly loyal, supportive network that extends beyond the training mats.
